The Hidden Art of Homemaking - Edith Schaeffer

I've been thinking quite a bit about creativity lately. Its interesting how God brings things full circle in life, in even the seemingly insignificant areas.es Years ago, someone recommended a book to me by Edith Schaeffer - The Hidden Art of Homemaking. I was a young Christian, newly married and eager for advice so I   picked it up from the library. While I may be in the minority, I have to admit that I found it irritating. Who does this woman think she is, I thought, does she have nothing better to do than sit drinking coffee in her little artist's enclave creating masterpieces? Did she really think I was going to set up an easel and paint the sunrise?

Years later, I'm taking another look at this book. I'll continue with this soon. In the mean time, Mrs. Schaeffer states:

Whatever form art takes, it gives outward expression to what otherwise would remain locked in the mind, unshared.

What are your thoughts on her statement?
